In-person advance voting for Grimsby's 2026 municipal and school board elections opens today, giving residents their first chance to cast ballots ahead of election day later this month.
Advance polls run Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre, according to a Town of Grimsby news release.
Voters who can't make it out today have a second advance polling opportunity on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the same location.
Election day itself is Monday, Oct. 26, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters casting ballots that day must attend their designated polling location, which is determined by the ward where their property is located.
Residents who prefer to vote from home can do so online. The town says online voting opened Monday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. and will remain available until Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.
Anyone voting in person is encouraged to bring their Voter Information Letter along with appropriate identification.
Voter Information Letters have already been mailed out to eligible voters. The town asked anyone who had not received a letter by Thursday, Oct. 1 to call 905-945-9634 ext. 2003.
Residents who still haven't received their letter can contact the town at the same number for help before voting, either online or in person.
The 2026 vote will fill Grimsby's municipal council and school board seats, as communities across Ontario head to the polls this month.
Voters can find their ward, check polling locations and review key dates on the town's election page at grimsby.ca/town-hall/elections.
Full details on voting options, identification requirements and election-day procedures are available on that page, or by contacting the Town of Grimsby at 160 Livingston Ave.
