Caledon residents seeking a seat on town council or a school board have until 2 p.m. on Aug. 21 to file nomination papers for the 2026 municipal election.

The nomination period opened May 1, and candidates have continued to enter the race in the weeks since, Caledon Citizen reported.

The filing deadline is separate from election day: voters will go to the polls on Oct. 26, 2026, to choose Caledon’s mayor, ward councillors, regional councillors and school board trustees.

Nominations are open for both Caledon council and school board trustee positions. A candidate’s campaign period begins once the Municipal Clerk receives their nomination, according to the report.

Caledon voters will use paper ballots in October. The election will select representatives for the 2026–2030 term of office.
