The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival begins today at Mooney's Bay, running through Sunday, June 21, and this year's regatta comes with a fresh addition — a new official merchandise collection designed for paddlers and spectators alike.

Scimitar Sports Canada has been named the festival's Official Merchandise Supplier, according to an announcement on dragonboat.net. The Ottawa-based collaboration brings a collection called "Paddle Power" to the shores of Mooney's Bay, described as a line of performance and lifestyle apparel inspired by the teamwork and energy of Canada's largest dragon boat festival.

The collection includes high-performance shirts, tanks, hoodies and accessories, made with eco-conscious fabrics and moisture-wicking technology, according to the announcement. Festivalgoers and competitors can buy the merchandise at the official on-site store at Mooney's Bay throughout the three-day event.

Festival touts partnership

"We're proud to join forces with Scimitar Sports Canada," said Antony Cooper, the festival's Director of Operations, Marketing, Sponsorship and Programming. "Their reputation for quality and innovation makes them a perfect fit for our festival. The Paddle Power line captures the passion and pride of our paddling community and gives our athletes, and supporters a way to take a piece of the festival spirit home with them."

Cooper's comments were included in the festival's announcement on dragonboat.net, which described Scimitar Sports Canada as a company known for custom sportswear and eco-friendly manufacturing practices, with ties to athletic communities across the country.

"Our team is thrilled to bring Paddle Power to the Nation's Capital and shores of Mooney's Bay," said Pete Mackenzie Bremner, Director and Owner of Scimitar Sports Canada. "This collection is more than just merchandise — it's a tribute to the strength and unity that defines the athletes of the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival and the paddling community."

Custom gear for teams

Beyond the retail line, teams competing this weekend can order custom uniforms, kits, banners, flags and tents through Scimitar Sports Canada, according to the announcement. The company says the custom options are meant to give crews a unified look on and off the water.

For Ottawa residents, the festival has long been a fixture of the early-summer calendar at Mooney's Bay, drawing elite and community crews as well as crowds of spectators to the Rideau River park each June.

The 2026 edition wraps up Sunday, June 21. Anyone heading to Mooney's Bay this weekend can browse the Paddle Power collection at the official merchandise store on site.
