Voting is now open in Midland's 2026 municipal and school board elections, and residents won't need to leave home to take part.

According to the Town of Midland, voting began at 10 a.m. on October 13 and continues around the clock until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26. The election will fill the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, seven councillors and school board trustee positions.

How to vote

Midland is running its election entirely through internet and telephone voting. The Town of Midland said eligible voters can cast a ballot online or by phone from any location, at any time during the voting period, including from home.

The system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until polls close at 8 p.m. on Voting Day.

To cast a ballot, electors need the Personal Identification Number included in their Voter Instruction Letter, which was mailed to people on the Voters List. The letter also contains step-by-step instructions for voting online or by telephone.

Help available at Town Hall

Voters who need assistance, want to update their voter information, or did not receive a Voter Instruction Letter can visit the Voter Assistance Centre at Town Hall, located at 575 Dominion Avenue, between October 13 and October 26.

The Town says complete voter information, including Voter Assistance Centre hours and answers to frequently asked questions, is available at midland.ca/vote.
