Voting is already underway in Ramara ahead of the township's municipal and school board election on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026. Online and telephone voting opened on Oct. 8, according to a Township of Ramara bulletin, giving residents more than two weeks to cast their ballots before election day itself.

Residents who want help with the process still have in-person options this month. The township has scheduled voter assistance centre sessions on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both at the Ramara Centre at 5482 Highway 12 in Atherley. A session at the Ramara Administration Building in Brechin was also held on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Thanksgiving closure

The township's administration building and its facilities, including the Voter Assistance Centre, will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, for Thanksgiving. Regular business hours resume on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The township's regular office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

How to get vote-ready

The township is encouraging residents to make sure they are "Vote Ready" before election day. That means confirming you are on the voters' list, learning how to vote and reviewing the certified list of candidates. All of that information is available at ramara.ca/election.

The Oct. 26 vote will fill township council seats and school board positions in Ramara, which sits along Highway 12 between Orillia and Brechin in Simcoe County.

For residents who want to follow township business between now and election day, all council meetings are streamed on the Township of Ramara's YouTube channel and open to attend in person in the council chambers at the administration building at 2297 Highway 12.
