Young artists in Grimsby have a chance to see their work on Mayor Jeff Jordan's official holiday greeting card this season.
The Town of Grimsby, together with the Grimsby Public Art Gallery, has launched the 2026 Mayor's Holiday Greeting Card Contest, inviting youth aged 15 and under to submit original artwork showing what the holiday season means to them.
According to a Town of Grimsby news release, submissions could feature sparkling snowflakes, twinkling lights, a winter wonderland or a festive scene inspired by the community itself. Pencils, paints and markers are all fair game.
What the winner receives
One winning design will appear on the mayor's official 2026 holiday greeting card. The winning artwork will also go on display in the Grimsby Public Art Gallery's Community Exhibition Space, alongside a selection of runner-up submissions.
Art station at the gallery
Families looking for inspiration can visit the Grimsby Public Art Gallery on Monday, November 2, when a special art-making station will be set up outside the gallery. Young artists can create their contest entries on the spot.
The town describes the drop-in session as a chance for families to get creative and take part in a festive community tradition.
How to enter
Each submission must include the child's name and age, along with a parent's name, email address and phone number.
Entries are due by Friday, November 13, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Full contest details and gallery hours of operation are available on the Town of Grimsby's website.
The Grimsby Public Art Gallery is located at 25 Clark Street, inside the same building as the Grimsby Public Library.
