Mississauga transit riders will see changes to select MiWay routes starting Monday, Oct. 26, as the city adjusts its bus network to better match service with rider demand.
According to the City of Mississauga, the route revisions are intended to improve operational efficiency, align service levels with customer demand and improve service reliability.
The city has not listed which specific routes are affected in its announcement, but riders are being directed to the MiWay schedules page for updated route timetables and holiday service details.
The changes come as MiWay, Mississauga's municipal transit system, regularly reviews its network and adjusts schedules several times a year. The next planned service change is set for Jan. 4, 2027.
Holiday service on the way
Later this year, MiWay will shift into its holiday schedule. Beginning Dec. 21, the transit agency will operate reduced weekday service on select dates, reflecting lower customer demand during the holiday season, the city said.
Riders who rely on weekday buses over the December holidays are encouraged to check their route schedules in advance, as some trips may not operate on the usual timetable.
Late-night buses on New Year's Eve
For riders celebrating on Dec. 31, MiWay plans to run extended late-night service on select routes, with buses operating after midnight on New Year's Eve.
The city says customers should visit the MiWay schedules page for full details on the routes included in the late-night service and the specific times they will run.
Riders who want to stay informed about upcoming service changes can also sign up for email updates through the City of Mississauga's website.
