Drivers in Pickering will lose a stretch of Toynevale Road for about two weeks starting Friday, October 30, 2026.

The City of Pickering is closing the road between 309 Toynevale Road and Lytton Court while site servicing work is carried out at 313 Toynevale Road, according to a City of Pickering public notice. The closure is scheduled to run until Friday, November 13, 2026.

Site servicing typically involves installing or connecting underground infrastructure, such as water and sewer lines, to serve a property. The city did not provide further details about the specific work or any detour routes in the notice.

Residents who live or travel in the affected area are encouraged to plan alternate routes while the closure is in effect. The city has posted a service announcement with a map of the affected area on its website.

Anyone with questions about the project can contact Nicolas Sanint, an inspector with the city's Engineering Services Department, at 905.420.4660 ext. 2034 or nsanint@pickering.ca.

Questions can also be directed to Joe Mitschang, a supervisor with Development Services in the same department, at 905.420.4660 ext. 2030 or jmitschang@pickering.ca.

The closure comes as Pickering continues to see residential development across the city. Toynevale Road is a residential street in the city's east end, near the Pickering Village area bordering Ajax.
