The Advance Brampton Fund opens November 2 for local non-profits planning arts, community safety and recreation projects in 2027, with applications due November 30. Applicants should prepare both their project budgets and the evidence behind any matching contributions.
The City's October 19 announcement sets three funding limits: up to $5,000 for New and Small Projects, $12,500 for Developing Projects and $25,000 for Amplifying Projects. The latter two streams support projects delivered in Brampton at least once and twice, respectively. Projects must take place between January 1 and December 31, 2027.
Advance Brampton Fund matching and costs
The 2027 guidelines say the smallest stream can cover all eligible expenses without a match. Larger-stream grants cover up to half of eligible expenses, while their tables require matching contributions of at least half of total expenses.
Eligible in-kind support and volunteer work can count toward matching; volunteer time is valued at $17.20 an hour. Supporting records must be kept.
General operating costs, including permanent staff salaries and office rent, are ineligible. Project-specific capital purchases face caps of $2,500 in the smallest stream and $5,000 in each larger stream, with the City determining eligibility.
Applications require an organizational portal profile. Complete submissions are due at 11:59 p.m. EST November 30; the staff-question deadline is November 26 at 4 p.m.
Funding decisions depend on Council approving the 2027 budget, anticipated late in the first quarter. Agreements and payment processing follow notification and may take several weeks. Starting a project or committing money beforehand does not oblige the City to fund it.
