Mississauga leaf pickup zones have been reorganized for 2026, making last year's collection routine an unreliable guide. The City's route map says the new zones reflect typical leaf-drop timing and asks residents to check which zone now covers their street.

The vacuum service covers streets more than 35 years old with many large mature trees. It is separate from Peel Region's collection of leaves in bags or labelled containers.

Mississauga leaf pickup weeks by zone

The City-linked route map lists two collection periods for each colour:

  • Yellow: October 26–30 and November 16–20.

  • Blue: November 2–6 and November 23–27.

  • Green: November 9–13 and November 30–December 4.

Check the map for street eligibility and zone before preparing a pile. Rain or early snow can change the schedule; the City directs residents to 311 for affected streets.

For eligible streets, the City's preparation instructions say to rake leaves to the boulevard's edge or into a ditch one or two days before the collection week. Keep roads and curbside storm drains clear. Do not mix wood, bricks or brush into piles, or put bags and bins on top.

Bagged leaves follow Peel's rules

If Mississauga leaf pickup misses later-falling leaves, the City directs residents to Peel's yard-waste collection on their scheduled day. Check the Peel waste service for the collection schedule.

Under Peel's set-out rules, filled bags and containers must weigh less than 20 kilograms. Bags must be brown Kraft paper, with room to close the top; plastic bags are not collected. Containers need rigid handles, a clear yard-waste label and a maximum capacity of 125 litres. The page also specifies size limits for both options.

A drain complaint has a different response standard

Leaves or other debris inside a catch basin can be reported through the City's catch-basin service. For flooding, a public-safety concern or an unknown liquid spill, it directs residents to call 311.

The City says it will inspect within three business days and make the area safe. Additional work goes onto its job list: the published standard does not promise a completed repair within those three days.
