Durham election results put Marilyn Crawford first in Ajax, Tito-Dante Marimpietri in Oshawa, Tom Dingwall in Clarington and Ian McDougall in Scugog after the October 26 municipal vote. Across the region's eight municipalities, the published counts also put Kevin Ashe, Elizabeth Roy, Dave Barton and Michael Jubb at the head of their mayoral contests.
Results checked on October 27 were at different stages of certification. Uxbridge now labels its results official, while several other municipal services still describe their counts as unofficial. Certification is a separate step, even where every reporting location has returned its count or a municipal announcement identifies a candidate as elected.
Durham election results: the southern municipalities
Ajax: Marilyn Crawford received 19,763 votes, or 61.0 per cent, in the town's published tally. Ashmeed Khan followed with 6,615, Richard Hinds with 3,296, Carion Fenn with 2,242 and Vian Persad with 473. The voting service reported turnout of 32.4 per cent.

Pickering: Kevin Ashe received 13,038 votes in the seven-candidate mayoral race, ahead of Lisa Robinson's 8,867 and Janice Frampton's 4,917. The city's reporting portal showed all six voting locations returned and turnout of 39.4 per cent.
Whitby: Elizabeth Roy led with 19,177 votes, or 51.87 per cent, followed by Chris Leahy with 16,122 and Harshini Rajmohan with 1,674. The town-linked reporting system showed all 63 tabulators returned and turnout of 31.12 per cent.
Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge
Brock: The township's October 27 announcement identified Michael Jubb as elected mayor and Peter Frank as regional councillor. It listed Claire Doble, Diana Vessel, Mike Samis, Sally Morgan and Ted Smith as the respective Ward 1 through Ward 5 councillors. Brock reported turnout of 40.5 per cent, while saying the official certificate would follow municipal clerk certification.
Scugog: The township's unofficial table put Ian McDougall first with 3,326 votes. Mike Coll followed with 1,971 and Wilma Wotten with 1,673. Jack Doak received 1,044, David Whitfield 369 and Charles Deane 67. Patricia Conlin led the regional councillor contest with 2,515 votes.
Uxbridge: Dave Barton received 5,881 votes, or 64.2 per cent, ahead of Ian Giffin's 1,967 and Ted Eng's 1,310 in the township's official results. Bruce Garrod led the regional councillor race with 6,762 votes against Jeff Mittman's 1,964. Turnout was 49.4 per cent.
Close council races warrant attention
Clarington's Ward 1 local councillor tally put Joe Neal just eight votes ahead of Sami Elhajjeh, 4,226 to 4,218. In Oshawa's Ward 1 regional and city councillor race, Christopher Biancaniello led Martin Franssen by 18 votes, 1,652 to 1,634. Those are margins in the published unofficial counts, not findings about whether a recount will occur.
Residents should check the linked municipal pages for later certifications or corrections and the complete school-board results. Mayor and councillor contests are separate votes; a mayoral lead does not establish the result of every ward race.
