York Region election results pair wide mayoral leads in Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill with a new name at the top in Georgina and a closer contest in East Gwillimbury. Across the region's nine municipalities, the October 26 vote also selected local and regional councillors, while two mayors returned without a contested ballot.
Dale Kerr Genge is listed as Georgina's mayor-elect in the Town's unofficial results announcement, with 7,127 votes. The municipal clerk-submitted AMO results place Margaret Quirk on 4,622 and Frank Sebo on 1,258.
East Gwillimbury's municipal results page puts Scott Crone ahead of Brian Johns by 681 votes: 5,390 to 4,709.

Large leads in the southern cities
Vaughan's figures, entered into AMO's municipal election results system, list Steven Del Duca as elected with 57,189 votes against Shelly-Ann Starlette Cerrelli's 12,941. That is approximately 81.5 per cent of the mayoral vote.
In Markham, Frank Scarpitti received 58,260 votes. Martin Ross recorded 13,152 and Stephen Edgell 9,658. The four highest regional councillor totals belong to Don Hamilton, Jack Heath, Jim Jones and Amanda Yeung Collucci.
Richmond Hill's count, showing all 21 tabulators reporting, gives David West 36,205 votes and 83.55 per cent. Domenic Bardari received 5,758 and Holo Devnani 1,371. Godwin Chan and Joe DiPaola hold the two highest totals in the regional and local councillor race.
Aurora, King and the acclaimed mayors
Aurora's completed unofficial count gives Tom Mrakas 8,526 votes, ahead of John Gallo's 4,991, Shawn Deane's 1,521 and Yafang Shi's 643. The Town reports all 31 polls in and turnout of 31.2 per cent.
King Township's announcement names Steve Pellegrini as elected mayor. It also lists Jordan Alexander Cescolini, David Boyd, Jennifer Anstey, Mary Asselstine, Ivan Rapa and Avia Eek for the six council wards; Boyd, Anstey and Eek were acclaimed.
Newmarket's John Taylor and Whitchurch-Stouffville's Iain Lovatt appear on AMO's list of acclaimed heads of council. Their return was settled without a mayoral ballot contest. Newmarket separately reported 20,740 voters and turnout of 28.5 per cent across its municipal election.
The regional chair was a separate process
These municipal results should not be read as an election for York's regional chair. Whitchurch-Stouffville's regional chair information page says the provincial minister advised of plans to appoint the next head of York Regional Council for the term beginning November 15, 2026.
Municipal clerks' certifications remain the next results milestone. Georgina and King explicitly say official results will follow certification, and Aurora says its clerk will certify on or before October 28.
