The Penetanguishene Mid-Pen Transit route will not operate on Saturday, Oct. 24, according to a Town of Midland notice.
The cancellation stems from what the town described as an unexpected operational issue. Service on the route is expected to resume Monday morning.
Riders should plan for Monday return
No alternate transportation was announced. The town apologized for the inconvenience and asked riders for their understanding while the route is out of service.
Anyone who relies on the route for weekend travel between Midland and Penetanguishene will need to make other arrangements for Saturday. Updates on Mid-Pen Transit service are posted through the Town of Midland's transit pages.
Municipal election voting still open
The same notice reminded residents that internet and telephone voting remains available around the clock until the close of voting day on Monday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m.
Voters can cast a ballot online at midland.isivote.com or by telephone at 1-877-850-9231, the town said.
Electors who need help voting are welcome to visit the Voter Assistance Centre for in-person support, according to the notice.
